About

I am a Children’s  Librarian living inSandy, Oregon.

I was born and raised in Spokane, WAbut moved away to New York when I was 19 to be a nanny. A year later I moved to California. For seven of those years I lived in Santa Cruz, CA . I went to school at Uncle Charlie’s Summer Camp (Kresge College) and worked my way through a B.A. in American Literature. After that I went to S.J.S.U.’s School of Library and Information Science and after four years of working full time and going to school part time I obtained a Master’s in Library and Information Science. I was a Science Librarian for about a year before I decided to move back to Spokane in August of 2005 to escape the high cost of living in the Bay Area.

I don’t have any children. I’m still not sure if I want to. I guess I need to figure it out because the old clock is ticking away.

I am thinking about learning how to play the banjo.

I have lots of hobbies.

I love crafty things. So I have dedicated Mondays to crafts. I mostly knit but I also have been known to sew, spin yarn, crochet, and whatever else interests me at the moment.

I also love photography. Fridays are dedicated to photography and I post one of the pictures that I have taken the previous week.  I shoot with a Pentax K10D and use my 18mm-250mm lens most of the time.

I also love to read. I am very passionate, in fact, about Y.A. and Kid lit. I love it and read lots of it for my job. So, as you can guess, there is lots of book talk around here. I dedicate Saturdays to books.

Tuesdays and Thursday are random. On those days I will post whatever happens to cross my mind.

Of course this is all subject to change if I get tired of posting on a schedule. But for now, it works.
